Ford Mustang Boss 302 slams Chevrolet Camaro at Barrett-Jackso
$450,000 Sale Price for Ford Mustang Boss 302

By Chris Woodyard / USA Today
January 26, 2011

Put the first Ford Mustang Boss 302 up against a Chevrolet Camaro convertible Indianapolis 500 pace car and see which one brings in the most money for charity at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale, Ariz. Which brought in the most?

The Mustang. By a factor of two.

A 2012 one-off "Grabber Blue" Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca pulled in $450,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. The 2011 Chevrolet Camaro convertible pace car raised $225,000 for the David Foster Foundation and included the opportunity to ride in the car during the parade laps at the 100th Indianapolis 500 in May.

Barrett-Jackson says it helped raise nearly $4 million for 20 local and national charitable causes during the 40th Annual Scottsdale Auction over the weekend.
